GOFF

This is the curious dance form. This dance is performed during Shigmo by Kulmi .A bunch of 6 to 12 ropes are suspended from the roof of a maatov.(a kind of temperory pavilion)erected in the courtyard of the house or on top of tree.

Each dancer holds a rope in his left hand and a TONI Or a Napkin in his right hand. The dance is performed on a particular rhythm .The instrument used in this dance is Ghumat ,Jodshamel  and Jaghaant. The players dance in such a way that one thick rope is formed and then reversed the direction to unwind the woven ropes.
The dancers have to perform this dance with full concentration an a single error in their dance may lead to the improper weaving of rope. Many Kulmi men and youth are expert to perform this dance .Traditionally there is no specific music to accompany the Goff, but they sing few lines from Talo or any other popular song.
